The overall aim of subproject 5 "Bio
fuel assessment” is the detailed assessment of complete process chain liquid
bio-fuels production based on ligno-cellulosic biomass feedstock. The assessment
will consist of necessary major components such as: biomass resources assessment,
biomass feedstock production and supply assessment, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
and technology assessment of full conversion chain of liquid fuels production,
environmental impact assessment, micro-economical analysis as well as socio-economic
assessment of future development trends of biomass-based transportation fuels
production and its relation with EU and accession countries policies (energy,
environmental and agricultural). The different pathways that lead to liquid fuels
will be evaluated and compared to each other. |
