Subproject 2 investigates the gasification via autothermal fluidised bed gasification
and compares with two-step fast pyrolysis followed by the pressurised entrained
flow gasification. Both gasification routes will be tested on pilot scale gasifiers
with standard biomass. Exergetic analysis will be done for optimisation of the
processes. Gas treatment measures will be compared with those of the existing
fluidised bed gasification of wood in Güssing. Longterm test of the gasification
and FT synthesis at Güssing will demonstrate the suitability of the technique.
At Güssing and at Cutec Fischer-Tropsch synthesis followed by hydrocracking
of the produced waxes will be performed and optimised. Investigation of a new
approach of developing catalytic cracking of the FT waxes will be performed at
Certh.
